Line Cook

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up the line area at the beginning of each shift.

  • Keep kitchen prep area, hot line, and dish tank clean and organized.

  • Must have good communication with staff and be able to carry out the plan of the day from the Kitchen Manager

  • Keep line stocked and prepped

  • Must work well under pressure

  • Complete side work as assigned by management including taking out trash, putting away stock, cleaning restrooms, etc.

  • Follows checklists and recipes as necessary

  • Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling.

  • Prepare work area for either opening, mid-shift, or closing in accordance with The Highway Brewing Co. standards.

  • Punches in on time in full uniform, ready to work, and no earlier than five minutes prior to shift

  • Take required beer and food courses



  • At least 18 years of age

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time

  • Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined during training period of 90 days

  • Must know basics of kitchen operations, including weight and measures, sanitation, reading and executing a recipe from start to finish
